In March I decided I wanted to sell my DIY eliquids. After checking out my
options I came to the conclusion that kits were a necessary evil. With the
rapid growth of e cigs and the expansion of the market I saw two extremes; Cig
a like devices like njoy and blu, and mechanical mods. When I convert a smoker
I always go with an ego CE4 kit, so that is where I started looking. I ordered
samples from several major manufacturers. Joyetech, Vision, and Smoktech were
the first companies I contacted. I purchased 20+ kits from each and threw them
in to my regular rotation. I have vaped on one form of ego or another daily for
6 months now. I also gave away more kits than I could count to every type of
vaper I could find that would agree to use one. I kept in touch with them over
the past few months, checking in to see how they were doing and how the
batteries were holding up. Most were new vapers that needed regular attention,
many were current ego users that were thrilled to get a VV device, a few were
current twist/spinner/winder users, and a smaller few were mod users.
I already had a few twists I used on a regular basis so I had an idea what
to expect from each device. I broke out the multimeter and tested each device
for true voltage. To my surprise all were within 1/10th accurate from 3.2 to
4.8 on a full charge. After a few weeks I could predict to the puff when one
would die. I took the batteries to about 10% charge and measured again. Another
surprise, they were all still within the same tolerance. I assume that over the
past few years manufactures have become aware that if they sell substandard
hardware that we "the vaping community" will find out and will steer
clear of those products. So performance wise all things were equal.
Look and feel is very similar among all three devices. The biggest
difference being the Smoktech Winder as it has a smooth look, glossy finish. I
was expecting it to slip out of my hand and be a constant drop hazard. After
weeks of use I noticed it was more of a clear coat feel like metallic paint on
a car, glossy but micro textured. The coating provides more than enough grip
that after the first week I didn’t even notice a difference between the
rubberized batteries and the Smoks. I’m not going to bother quoting the exact
weight as the difference is so low it is indistinguishable. The twist is about
1/4 inch longer than the spinner or winder but again a minor difference.
So by now I imagine you are wondering "then what are the
differences?" Well after 6 months the only big differences come down to wear
and tear.
Smoktech Winder:
Pros: The adjustment dial is still firm, the lettering is still legible and
I like the texture of the dial. I get about 3 bad low voltage puffs before dies
but it still keeps consistent voltage. The finish has a couple nicks but hasn't
degraded. The firing button is still firm. I didn’t have one smok battery die
yet
Cons: None really just a gripe. The center pin is relatively high. When I
switch from evods to Aros the pin is pushed down too far to make contact. This
is more because of the length of the evod than a fault of the battery though,
and with other smok clearomizers I don’t have this problem
Vision Spinner
Pros: I still get consistent voltage; the finish is still intact with minor flaws.
The firing button is still firm
Cons: I had a lot of complaints about the dial becoming loose and making it
easy for the dial to move and change voltage when you’re not paying attention.
I personally had a couple like this myself. Some complained that their
batteries wouldn’t charge after a while, but we found it to be an issue with
the chargers. I also had 2 out of 20 that died at 4 and 5 months and would not
charge.
Joyetech Twist
Pros: Consistent voltage, firing button is firm, the dial is firm
Cons: The joye had the thinnest coating. I had a lot of nicks and scrapes
and the same was true for my testers. I had 3 DOAs. The bottom dial has lost
all markings, the smooth and thinness of the dial makes it hard to turn at
times for some users.
Overall:
I would recommend any of these kits for new or current users. The ability to
change your voltage and customize your vape to suit your preferences in warmth,
and taste is a great feature. Though some held up better than others, all
performed great for 6 months. I tried a lot of knock offs along the way and
none could match the longevity of these three devices.
I was impressed by Smoktech as they have had some issues in the past with
poor quality in batteries. I haven’t had a problem with any of my winders yet.
I was disappointed with Vision, I lover their clearomizers but the dial on a
lot of the batteries was loose from the beginning and only got worse by month
6.
Joyetech performed great but wasn’t designed well for long term durability.
The finish was a lot thinner than my previous versions and the numbering on the
dial was gone in a month of heavy use for me. As always thanks for reading.

O2Vapor Starter kit and E-Liquid Review
O2Vapor is a company that recently came across my radar as another great 808 style kit. When I saw their prices I was skeptical about their quality. Usually lower prices can mean lower quality. But as I dug through the forums, none of their customers had a single bad thing to say about them. Hmmm? So now there is a O2Vapor starter kit and box full of flavors call my name.Im going to slide this kit in to my regular rotation with my other batteries and carts to get a side by side comparison for a week.
Presentation: I feel like such a little kid but the glass box (clear plastic) with magnetic lid is just cool. Under the lid was my kit, usb charger, wall adapter, 2 black auto batteries with green LED tips, and a pack of 5 cartomizers. O2 offers 180mah 65mm batteries, and 280 mah 78mm batteries. Auto and manual are available in both, and they are sealed to prevent liquid leaking into the battery. Color choice...the classic black battery is it. Keep it simple. I do like the small logo, I hate large obnoxious logos. The cartos have the same small print font across the bottom. The rubberized feel has been abused for a week in my truck, my pocket and my laptop bag. The finish is still thick and soft to the grip
Batteries: I usually rotate 2 short auto batteries, so I put my O2Vapor shorty in the rotation. Usually I get 2 hours of vaping out of one battery. It also usually takes the same amount of time to charge one battery. After 1 week + these batteries perform just like 220mah batteries. There have been long drawn out controversies over inflated mah claims. All I can say is side by side day in and day out my bloog and volt batteries are the best on the market, and these O2Vapor batteries fell right in line with them. I charge one battery while the other charges, never did any of my of them go dead before the next one was charged. Yes I realize I there is a difference of 40mah but the proof is in the vapor so to speak. The next big factor the can make or break a battery, constant voltage, or how well the battery preforms when the battery is almost dead. A lot of knock off batteries will drop voltage long before the battery actually dies, giving you a weak vapor, and making you wish it would just die already. The biggest thing that made me buy a Volt kit was seeing proof that they didnt drop off as the battery died. O2Vapor batteries truly deliver, maybe twice in 10 days did I have to look at the end of the battery to see if it was dead.
Over all the batteries preform as well as any I have tried, but these are 9$ a piece. Well see how the do after a few months
Cartomizers Side by side Bloog and O2Vapor cartomizers tore down. Only differences are minor. The O2 has a slightly smaller slit in the inner tube, encouraging more collection of liquid at the bottom of the cart. Also the inner layer of filler is a little thicker consistency to wick liquid from the outter filler to the center tube. Upon observation this seems to work a lot better with their pure VG line
I have several different flavors I will be reviewing this week, But for now a general review of the cartomizers. If your not familiar with Vegetable Glycerin (VG) is a thick, sweet liquid. VG produces thick clouds of vapor. VG also gives you a sweeter taste. Propylene Glycol (PG) is a much thinner tasteless liquid. PG produces more of a “throat hit” than VG does. PG also has a higher rate of sensitivity for some people, meaning that some people just can’t use PG in their vape.
O2 uses only VG in their flavors, from fruits to sweets everything taste fuller, "juicier" thicker, and sweeter. As I said before, O2 uses all vg juices. VG is a little notorious for clogging up atomizers and wicking a lot slower as it is a lot thicker therefore your wick dries faster leading to burnt wicks. I have gone through 5 prefilled packs, as just a little background I chain vape. Ill take 7-8 hits in a row before I let the cartomizer "rewick" so VG has been troublesome for me in the past. But so far no burnt cartomizers. I couldn't understand this until I tore open the cartomizer. The VG is pulled and funneled very well in these cartomizers. Overall these are great performing cartos, The ability to use VG in their flavors really sets them apart. Their flavors are thicker, more flavorful, and just taste better. Ive been using 18mg nicotine for a week, and though I did vape a little heavier then my normal 24mg I couldnt tell if it was because the flavors taste amazing or if I was compensating for the lower nicotine. But either way the thickness of the vapor really compensated for the lessened throat hit. It felt like the vapor was fuller in the back of your throat and lasted longer, so it hit softer, but it hit longer. Make any sense? I hope so.As always thanks for reading, and check out O2Vapor.com

Njoy King Review
The NJOY King. The newest disposable making waves and flying off the shelf. With an ad campaign calling out traditional cigarettes saying they have "met their match" and the catchy little jingle (feels like the first time)...sorry it gets stuck in my head. My first e cig was an Njoy. I paid about 80$ for a starter kit and that experience left a bad taste in my mouth.....literally. So Im a bit bias against them. That and I know countless people that have bought an electronic cigarette at a gas station only to throw it out thinking that all e cigs suck. So lets see if the Njoy King can live up to its own hype,
Below are 2 review styles
Full: Detailed and technical tear down (see below)
Basic: The short sweet truth (scroll to Bottom)
First puff. WOW....wow.......give me a sec.......WOW. This is the most realistic "cigarette" taste Ive vaped. It is most similar to a camel light. I like tobacco flavors but I quit trying to find something like this a long time ago. After you quit your taste buds seem to come back to life and the taste isnt appealing any more. But right now, this is amazing. Im going to puff on it for a couple hours and test it out.
Look and Feel. The Njoy King comes in a nice little flip top box. It comes with a little flyer in the middle with some information about the product and the recycling program (Ill cover it later) The top flips like a zippo lighter and over all its a nice way to carry it around. The cigarette its self has an amazing feel, its like holding a real cigarette. The King is a half inch shorter that a standard electronic cigarette and is covered in a paper wrap over the plastic tubed so it feels more realistic. The tip has a clear plastic wrap over it to keep it from getting wet in your mouth. The tip looks like a burnt cigarette and glows red to simulate smoking.
Overall/Basic Review
The Njoy King is one of the most realistic cigarette like electronic cigarettes I have ever tried. It feels like a cigarette because of its smaller size and paper coating that again makes it feel like a real paper cigarette. It hits like a cigarette with a smooth throat kick nearly identical to a cigarette. It taste like a cigarette, mostly like a camel light. But I have never been more excited and disappointed with an electronic cigaretteThe MAJOR problem is that the size of the battery and atomizer cannot support more than a couple hours. At 8$ a piece and less than a 2 hour battery life it can never touch the 2 pack life claim. They do have a recycling program(click here) but it takes 8 used Kings to get 1 for free. They also have a free trial you can order for 2.99 shipping
Pros:
Great taste, really does taste like a real cigarette
The paper texture even feels like a real cigarette
The throat hit isnt harsh, and again, like a real cigarette
They sell them every where it seems
Cons:
IT ONLY LAST A COUPLE HOURS
8$ a piece is two pack price around here
Buy 8 get 1 free?
Did I mention it only lasts a couple hours
So there you have it. Amazing product, for a little while. Thanks for reading and click the picture below if you want to get a free sample for your self

Big Robs Solar Mod
This isnt the first but as far as I can find right now its the only show in town for a solar mod period. Let alone a solid mod like this one. I just got it in the mail today and it hasnt left my hand, here it is
The Solar mod from Big Robs Vape Mods
I had to steal BMWJens picture idea, the size is really surprising, even after seeing pictures it still seems small. Its a little awkward in the hand but once you put it down and pick it up a few times, you get used to the placement of the button and a comfortable way to hold it. its so skinny it slides in and out of pockets no problem. Definitely smaller than a pack of cigarettes, and easier to carry.

On top you have a 510 connection, a couple of screws (sorry no way in heck right now that Im taking this thing apart) and the switch. The switch is tiny, tiny. Its a soft push, similar to a well used pen. It fires at about half way down, so your not trying to push it all the way down in the mod every time. Its a little awkward again, but once you find whats comfortable, its only an after thought. The softness of the switch is surprising at first but it really goes a long way to ease of use on this one. It makes it a lot easier to pick it up and vape with out having to make sure your holding it exactly right to fire the mod.
On the bottom from right to left you have a charging port, the LED (mine is green) and another charging port. In the box I also received a USB and wall charger, and several (4) attachments including a micro USB. Nice to have if you need to charge a cell phone, mp3 player, or just about any other small electronic device.
The nice green LED on the bottom comes on to show you that its charging. As soon as I pulled it out of the box it started glowing. If you put your hand around it, the light goes off. I turned off all the lights (im in the basement) and sat it in front of my laptop, and it still drew a charge. I cant speak for battery life so far because it hasnt went dead.yet. I plan on placing it face down tonight so it doesn't stay on
The solar panel on the front is solid, no flex to it. It seems to be a thicker panel than my old solar phone charger. The old phone charger was flimsy and broke in the car one day, but this mod is thick. Thats probably why it charges so well. The body is as sturdy as my ipod, this thing looks so small and dainty, ITS NOT. Im not encouraging any one to use it as a hammer but I have had a several boxes that didnt come any where near the solid construction of this mod.
Ive ran through a few carts and attys. From 1.5 2.0 2.5 and 3.0. I get great vape across the board. I did notice one thing that I really loved. every time I get a battery off the charge it never preforms as well as the first few puffs. I get that kind of hit and performance every time, every push of the switch I get a solid hit and great vapor.
Overall, As Advertised, its a little awkward at first but the performance and versitility of this mod will make you forget all about that. The switch is a little soft, some will find it a plus some will worry about a fat thumb going rouge and breaking it. To me it makes the mod less clumsy. Size is a big plus, its really easy to carry. I cant say enough about how surprised I am about how solid the construction is. And come on, its solid, charges itself, charges your phone, vapes like a champ, fits well in a pocket, and looks cool doing it. Im really glad I got one before Big Rob is over run by orders. They are working on the new website, and hope to have it configured some time this weekend. Jen told me "We've got silver, gold, red, pink & black in stock for $46 shipped." in the mean time you can drop an email to gemsandjuice1@gmail.com. Thanks for reading

The Sparkplug for smokers. Tear down and review
I found this device on the deals and steals page on ECF. Its a very cheap mod so it was easy to justify the $35 shipped to check this one out. The site is a little shady looking, as its marketed towards the mass e cig market, and a little misleading at parts. But the support was great, the shipping was cheap and fast and I got my sparkplug in a hurry. Heres the description from their site "The Sparki Internet Starter Kit gives you all you need to get started with your smokeless solution. Now try for thirty days risk free! Now lets take a look at what $35 buys these days

The kit came with all the listed parts, 2 batteries, 1attomizer, Both the regulat 3.7 volt tube and the thermo tube for HV vaping, the bottom button, and the plug with 801 connection, battery charger and a bottle of the tobacco e liquid. Assembly is really easy,

Put the gold cap into the 801 conection end, insert one battery and screw on the button and 801 connection. The thermo tube assembles the same but with 2 batteries. DO NOT USE THE STOCK BATTERIES. Its a very basic mechanical setup. No switches no circuitry, just a solid cheap mod.Now for the review portion, I started with the stock carts, but they tasted like a stale cigarette so I moving on to a few of my favorite liquids. just pull the tip off the cart and enjoy. The button placement is a little uncomfortable for me, as its on the bottom of the tube. Again this is a mechanical mod so there now switches, the button pushes against the battery, pushing it against the connection making contact and powering the atomizer. a lot of people prefer mechanical mods because there is not cheap circuitry or switched to break or corrode its just a simple button press. Its a gentle push, you can hear the atomizer sizzle. I have tried several methods for holding the mod to make the button a little more comfortable. I have had my hand broken a few times and my pinky and ring finger have limited movement, but it becomes like second nature after a few puffs.
I recommend taking the battery out when your not using it so the switch doesn't get pushed in for too long and overheat the battery. Exploding batteries aren't fun. Im not going to get into unprotected vs protected batteries. Never use unprotected batteries in the HV thermo tube though, It is very unsafe, and protected batteries are a lot cheaper that medical bills.
The atomizer rolls out a pretty steady vapor. Im getting really good production, the stock atomizer holds a good bit of liquid, and dripping last a little longer than on my 510 atomizers. I dont have any 801 supplies laying around the house to test on this mod but I think the stock setup speaks for itself. Great vapor production, good hit, full flavor, and a good dripping atomizer that dosnt leak unless you really flood it. Im using about 7-8 drops at a time.
Battery life is pretty good. I have heard 10 hours, but Im getting about 8 solid hours of frequent vaping. Charging takes about an hour but its nice to get 2 batteries so you can switch them out with out having to worry about both of them going dead.
They have a few different colors and styles, and the extra parts are pretty cheap too
Conclusion, I haven't found another mod like this for under $50. and $29.99 is a great price for a simple mod that just works. Its nothing fancy but it vapes hard. Im going to have to check into some new 801 accessories for my new toy

Smoke Revolution PCC Kit Review
I have been looking into a more traditional e cig. I get a lot of funny looks when Im using a box or tube mod in public. even when I try to explain it people tend to shy away from a 9" tube mod or a box with a tube coming out of it. I love my mods LOVE but if people are more receptive to mini e cigs, then by all means I would like them to ask me questions. I go to a lot of bars and restaurants where everyone goes outside to smoke. Though I do vape in side a lot, I run into a lot of people I know outside, and its a great opportunity to catch up and often tell them about e cigs. So in short I bring you,SMOKE REVOLUTION SMART PACK (PCC) KIT
I know there are a lot of mass market e cigs out there. Im going to try to point out a lot of the differences between this kit and a lot of others. So load your carto, tank or atty and lets go through the kit.
I posted a picture the other day of the box, but before the box, you get to choose what comes in it. It comes in 2 configurations: a 2 piece e-cigarette kit, a 3 piece e-cigarette kit. So you can choose between an atomizer and a cartomizer setup. I went with cartomizers, one they are easy to fill and carry, two, if I can screw on a fresh one to let someone try it. The kit is $64.90, which is just a little under what you would expect to pay for a GOOD mini e cig kit. Shipping is free and took about 2 days to my home in WV. The biggest difference right off to me was a 1Yearr Warranty on the batteries and the PCC of course the atomizers and cartomisers have a shorter lifespan, but they come with a 15 Day Warranty. 1 year on a battery is huge thing in this industry, especially on a PCC that has a lot of functionality to it. So lets take a look at what you get
The kit shows up in a nice box, all neatly packed to add to your vapemail excitement. You get the PCC, 2 manual batteries (yes manual, Ill explain later) 5 prefilled and sealed cartomisers with those little reusable caps, a usb to wall charger (its pretty small and flat, and the prongs fold in) and the USB cable.
The PCC pack is really sturdy, I have had a couple 510 pccs and they were all pretty thin plastic. The Smoke revolution PCC is thick and heavy duty, has room hold 5 cartridges or cartomizers, an atomizer with a tip, and holds one battery while holding and charging another. The LCD is inset as is the USB port. The PCC is about the same size as a pack of regular cigarettes, but my favorite thing is the rubberized coating. It makes it really easy to grip, slide in and out of a pocket, and just looks cleaner. Its about as heavy as a zippo lighter and a pack of cigs. It has a single button across the front and is skinny enough that its easy to push, but hard to trigger in your pocket.
The hinge is a metal pin through thicker plastic. There are two plastic indentions that hold the two plastic pins that are inside the top of the cover. Again, easy to open, but not going to fall open on its own. Little details like this are making me like this PCC. It adds to the sturdy factor I mentioned earlier.
The LCD display, as I mentioned earlier is in set so its not going to get scratched easily. The silver bar below it is the button, well two buttons, one on the left and the other on the right. The LCD shines blue when showing how much charge the PCC has. When you screw the battery into the PCC and hold the right button, the battery LED will flash, and once the LCD on the PCC turns red, the battery is charging. You can press the right button again to see if the battery is done charging, the LCD will turn blue again. They say you can get up to eight charges off of a fully charged PCC.
The bottom of the PCC has a flashlight, press the left button to turn it on. Hold the button for a few seconds and the light will stay on, press it again and it will go back off. Its a handy little feature, one you never need until you really need it. Its a pretty bright led, and creates a lot of light.
The mini usd port is inset as well, and the mini usb is one of the most common ports. Any one with a old razr or blackberry charger has an extra on laying around now.
The battery is a mini, just a little longer than the cartomizer its self. It really gives you that cigarette feel in the hand. Its not like holding a mod or something awkward, its like holding a cig. It weighs about as much an a pencil. The light is blue if you care about light color
The switch is another big difference. It is pretty much flush so its not triggered in the PCC on in a pocket. Its a soft rubber button and stick up just enough to be easy to find and press. Most PCCs require automatic batteries, auto batteries have a hole up through the battery and lets juice in the battery if your not careful and will ruin the battery. Manuals are sealed and last a lot longer.
Now for the performance. I used this for two days exclusively at work, and a couple of outings to local restaurants. I got about 6 solid charges on average. Usually the last or 7th charge depleted the PCCs battery and gave me about 75% charge on the battery itself. I did have to try to run out of battery. I have a car charger, I work on computers, I have outlets at work and home. I had to not charge it all day to run it out.
I finally took one of the cartomizers and put it on my Bartleby and vaped them side by side on a full charge. The hit was identical, vapor production was the same. I did get a little warmer vapor from my Bartleby. The vapor and throat hit stayed consistent till the battery light started flashing to tell me the battery needed recharged.
I wasnt much for the stock tobacco flavor they sent me. It hit really hard, and had great vapor production, but it tasted a little stronger than my taste, and had a sweet finish. I generally like rough tobacco vapes, but the sweetness was a little weird for me. I got a corner office recently, the largest one in the building, but they didnt tell me I would have to share it. Brent sets across the room from me and likes guessing the flavor of my vapes by the smell. he smokes cigarettes occasionally, and is in the process of quitting cigars. Hes dipping snuff now, so I finally gave up on letting him quit his way.
I started showing him my new toy, and put on a new cartomiser and one of my old 510 batteries and passed it to him. He took a huge hit and coughed his but off. I explained to him that just because it was vapor didnt mean it didnt have throat hit. he started taking little puffs working his way up to where he was comfortable. Finally he sat back in his chair and started blowing vapor rings and grinning. "I like that" he smiled and said, "It taste like a full flavor with a sweet after taste, it taste like a cigarette but better. I dont have to chew a piece of gum to get the taste out of my mouth." I had to lend him the battery till I can talk him into buying something nicer.
I shot Fernando at Smoke Revolution an email. He told me that the sweet taste makes it easier for smokers to transition to e cigs. I tried a couple of the other liquids I have (I will review those later) and they all have that sweet tobacco taste to them. I vape a lot of different liquids but these weren't for me, but Brent loved them. I had to pass out a few more. I caught up with a couple guys who used to come in the bar I worked at. After a few jokes, a few hits and a few coughs, they said the same. "Its good, like a little sweet mild cigar" "It just taste like a different brand" I guess its been so long since I quit smoking I forgot how bad cigarettes taste, but if your looking for something that taste better than a cigarette but still taste enough like one, Here you go.
Over all I love my vv mod, I can turn the voltage up and vape myself stupid, but I have to carry extra equipment. My box mods are great but I still need to carry cartos. And the look on peoples faces when you open a bottom feeder and explain it, they would rather lilght up. Its nice to keep a few cartos in the PCC, charge it and leave it till I need it. I can just grab it and go. I dont have to keep batteries in my pocket, no extra bottles of juice, no chargers, I just grab my pack and throw it in my pocket. I dont even have to grab a lighter. Its easy, its got good vapor and throat hit, it will last me all night, by the time one battery is dead, that other is ready. The biggest thing for me is its so easy to get people interested in. If your looking for an all in one solution for the smoker you know you cant beat it. Sorry for such a long review, but Thank you for reading
